Is your business looking for summer interns? The Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation (AAWDC) is looking to place and match a total of 150 Interns with meaningful summer employment in our City and County in 2018.
AAWDC's 2018 Summer YouthWorks! program provides Anne Arundel County's high school youth with career exposure, essential workplace skills training, financial literacy, and a meaningful six-week, paid work experience.
The Summer YouthWorks’18 Program is in now in its 10th year. It employs 150 youth across the County during the summer and places them with more than 50 Anne Arundel business partners. This year, SYW’18 will be accepting in-school youth, ages 16-21. The program will start June 25th and runs for 6 weeks through August 3rd. Youth will go through a rigorous screening process which will include three mandatory workshops in essential workplace skills, career exploration and financial management. Selected youth will be paired with industries in which they have shown an interest and aptitude. These are fully paid, 30 hours/week internships are funded by grants and other funds received for the program. Adult monitors are assigned to each intern and visit their place of business twice a week to make sure the experience is going smoothly for both intern and employer. AAWDC covers all liability for interns.
