Attn Boaters - Please secure your boats due to high winds; mooring balls available for free

Annapolis, MD (3-1-18) – Due the forecast of very high winds and to protect public safety, the City of Annapolis is offering free use of its transient mooring balls from 10 a.m. today until 4 p.m. Sunday, March 4. There are 76 mooring balls available, free of charge, and are available on a first come, first served basis.

“We hope that this will prevent vessels from dragging anchor and causing injury or property damage,” said City Harbormaster Beth Bellis.

Boaters should contact the Harbormaster's office after selecting a mooring to ensure that the chosen mooring is a transient mooring and not an annual mooring. Boaters should use VHF 17 or call 410-263-7973.

Disclosure: Owners of vessels which take advantage of this offer recognize, understand and acknowledge that the City is not responsible for any personal injury, damages resulting from personal injury, including death, and property damage/loss suffered while using a City transient mooring ball, and any related activities, for any reason whatsoever.
