Media Advisory- Annapolis Renewable Energy Park


WHO: Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides, County Executive Steve Schuh, Annapolis City Alderpersons, and representatives from Annapolis Solar Park, LLC

WHAT:   An announcement about the start of construction on the Annapolis Renewable Energy Park,  which will use more than 50,000 solar panels to convert sunlight into electricity on approximately 80 acres of a closed and capped Annapolis landfill. This project, when completed, will be the largest solar project exclusively installed on a closed landfill in the United States, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.

WHERE:  The Annapolis Landfill, located at 460 Defense Highway, in Annapolis

WHEN: Thursday, November 2nd at 10 a.m.
