New Kingsport-Bywater Park will begin construction next week.
The Kingsport-Bywater Park Project will provide play equipment for children from tots to teens as well as a new walking path for all ages. The project includes stormwater management infrastructure and sidewalk ramps. There will also be a central gathering area with a unique seating wall so that parents and caregivers can safely watch children at several play areas. The park will have a grass playing field, picnic area, and park benches.
Due to the start of construction, the park will be closed on August 15th and is expected to reopen in November.
The development of the family-oriented park in the community is possible due to Program Open Space money and a grant from Community Parks and Playgrounds.
