[ARCHIVED] Memorial Day

Annapolis City government offices will be closed on Monday, May 29, in observance of Memorial Day.


Refuse and recycling will be affected on Monday and Tuesday, May 29th and 30th by moving the normal collection day to the next day. If Monday is your normal collection day, service will occur on Tuesday. Regular refuse and recycling will resume on Thursday, June 1. Please note, there will be no yard waste collection or bulk item collection on Wednesday, May 31st

On Memorial Day, Annapolis Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule. For more information on the Sunday schedule, go to http://bit.ly/1fBqVJ9.

Meanwhile, Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides announces the Annapolis Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 29th at 10 a.m.

The parade follows the traditional route on West Street. It goes around Church Circle, down Main Street, and ends at City Dock. Marching bands, as well as veteran, community, and patriotic organizations will be part of the parade honoring and remembering those who have died serving our country.

Immediately following the parade will be the annual wreath laying ceremony at Susan Campbell Park. This ceremony is open to the public and all are welcome.
