Annapolis May Baskets Are Coming!
The Garden Club of Old Annapolis Towne Invites Residents and
Businesses to Join in the 67th Annual May Day Celebration.
Annapolis, MD (April 18, 2022) – A springtime tradition is continuing in Annapolis! The Garden Club of Old Annapolis Towne invites Annapolis residents and businesses to join in the 67th
Annual May Day celebration by displaying colorful baskets of flowers in front of their home or business on Sunday, May 1, 2022.
Baskets on display in the Historic District and parts of Murray Hill will be judged with blue ribbon award winners receiving a special invitation to a May Day tea on Tuesday, May 3. To be judged, residents and businesses should display baskets of fresh cut flowers by 11 a.m. on May 1 with cards indicating the name of the participant. Merchants are encouraged to use a container or display that reflects an element of their business. Children’s baskets are judged in a special category (please attach a card with the child’s name and age on their basket).
Participants, observers, and visitors are encouraged to use social media to share photos of their favorite baskets by using the hashtags: #maydayannapolis2022 and #67thannapolismayday.
This is a rain or shine event.
“May Baskets in Annapolis are a beautiful, local tradition.” said Mayor Gavin Buckley. “I always look forward to wandering City streets with my wife to applaud the creativity of our residents and businesses.”

Annapolis, MD (18 de abril de 2022): ¡una tradición primaveral continúa en Annapolis! El Club de Jardines de Old Annapolis Towne invita a los residentes y empresas de Annapolis a unirse a la 67a
celebración anual del Primero de Mayo exhibiendo canastas de flores coloridas frente a su hogar o negocio el domingo, 1 de mayo de 2022.
Las canastas que se exhiben en el distrito histórico y partes de Murray Hill serán evaluadas y los ganadores del premio listón azul recibirán una invitación especial para un té entre el Primero de Mayo y el martes 3 de mayo. Para ser evaluados, los residentes y las empresas deben exhibir canastas de flores frescas el 1 de mayo a las 11 horas con tarjetas indicando el nombre del participante. Se alienta a los comerciantes a usar un contenedor o una exhibición que refleje un elemento de su negocio. Las canastas de los niños se juzgan en una categoría especial (adjunte una tarjeta con el nombre y la edad del niño en su canasta).
Se alienta a los participantes, observadores y visitantes a usar las redes sociales para compartir fotos de sus canastas favoritas usando los hashtags: #maydayannapolis2022 y #67thannapolismayday.
