Pop Up Recovery Zone in the Annapolis Design District Set for Saturday: Music! Art! Vendors!

ANNAPOLIS, MD (June 24, 2020) – Mayor Gavin Buckley and Alderwoman Rhonda Pindell Charles announced a “pop-up” Recovery Zone for Saturday, June 27 from 5 to 10 p.m. in parking area alongside Sin Fronteras restaurant on Forest Drive in Parole. This zone will include music, food trucks and local artists.

“A street festival is a wonderful way for residents to explore the diverse and creative talent in the City of Annapolis,” said Mayor Buckley. “It doesn’t hurt that outdoor activities are recommended to protect the public health.”

Organizers from the Mayor’s One Annapolis office have scheduled musical guests including DJ Rappin and Diva “DiVoice.” Food trucks will include a variety of cuisines with outdoor physically distanced outdoor seating. Vendors and artists will have booths throughout the block.

Patrons who visit the Saturday event are strongly encouraged to wear a face covering in the pop-up Recovery Zone (except while eating or drinking).

“We have so much to offer in Ward Three,” said Alderwoman Pindell Charles. “And this will be a great event to highlight our talented artists, chefs and musicians. I can’t wait to see everyone on Saturday!”

Patrons are encouraged to check out the murals painted throughout the Annapolis Design District, which includes the area to the east of Chinquapin Round Road and to the south of West Street.

Other sponsors include the Greater Parole Community Association, the Annapolis Design District, and Xclusion Art.

Vendors interested in participating, please contact 410-263-7997 or email oneannapolis@annapolis.gov.
