[ARCHIVED] Potential Downtown Flooding Into Friday Morning

We are resending this announcement. Downtown businesses located on the City Dock should be aware of the possibility of flooding today and prepare accordingly.

The Annapolis Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is monitoring the approaching heavy rainfall and extreme coastal flooding that may affect the Annapolis area later this morning into Friday morning.

Water level could remain at or above Moderate Flood stage for a number of hours on Thursday, before slowly subsiding on Friday. Minor coastal flooding occurred today during high tide at 10:40 AM and could also occur beginning around high tide at 10:50 PM this evening and potentially continue through early Friday.

There could be a possibility of temporary road closures and alternate traffic patterns in affected areas. The potentially coincident timing of the heavy rainfall and coastal flooding could create groundwater, runoff, and drainage issues. Please use caution in the area.
