Public Works New Information or Highlights
  • Treecycling:  After the Holidays, remove all lights, garland, and decorations from your tree. Then set your tree at the curb with your yard trim. If your tree is greater than 6 feet in length, cut your tree down to a maximum of 6 feet prior to collection. Please NO plastic tree bags.
  • Participate in our Rethink Recycling Competition:  See how your collection measures up.
  • Food Composting Pilot Programs:  Pilot curbside program and a Drop off program.
  • Two New Ways to Communicate with Public Works: Looking for Answers, Need to Report a Problem, Want to receive information via text check out TextMyGov.
  • Help Public Works by knowing "What to Flush". Prevent sewer backups and overflows by not putting wipes, paper towels, grease, etc down the toilet.
  • Recycling Contamination.  Recycling that is contaminated with film plastic, bagged recyclables, and plastic bags will not be collected and will be left at the curb.
  • Recycling Back to the Basics. Only place these materials in your blue recycling container: mixed paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, plastic containers, rigid plastic, aluminum, and steel cans and beverage containers, glass bottles, and jars.  Containers must be empty and clean.
