Child Care (in the local elementary schools)

The Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department has provided child care for elementary age children for more than 30 years. We offer a Before School Program and After School Program. The staff provide high quality care and supervision for students in pre-kindergarten through the fifth grade. Our Child Care Program strives to be a place where children have positive experiences and parents feel secure and comfortable.

The program follows the calendar set forth by Anne Arundel County Public Schools. On major holidays the program is closed. However, we do offer all-day child care on teacher workdays called Kids Day In at the "Pip" Moyer  Recreation Center.

Registration for the 2018-2019 school year is underway (started Wednesday, April 4th)!

Before School Program

This program consists of crafts, coloring, and board games that stimulate the imagination and keep the students entertained. Quiet and low key activities are planned so that children do not become too involved prior to the start of school. Students are released to their classrooms when the first bell rings.

Before School rate is $117 per month for the 2017-2018 school year.

After School Program

This program offers structured activities that are planned for the students. Students choose from a variety of activities including sports, games and crafts. They may also read and complete their homework. No child is required to take part in planned activities, but active participation is encouraged.

After School rate is $222 per month for the 2017-2018 school year.

Registration begins the first Wednesday in April for the following fall program start (i.e. April 4, 2018 for the 2018-2019 school year). Enrollment is accepted throughout the school year when space is available. Registration materials are available at each program location and at the "Pip" Moyer Recreation Center.
