Water Taxi 

The Watermark Company offers a water taxi launch service and other entertainment services as well. The water taxis operate in Spa and Back Creek and can be reached on VHF 68, or mobile at 410-263-0033.

Drawbridges 

There are two drawbridges in City Waters that are located in Spa Creek, and Weems Creek. These two bridges are part of the Maryland Highway Administration's (MHA) movable bridges on State Maintained Highways (PDF). The dimensions of both bridges can be found on NOAA Chart 12282 - Chesapeake Bay Severn and Magothy Rivers. The Spa Creek Bascule Drawbridge can be hailed on Very High Frequency (VHF) 13, and via mobile at 410-974-3840.

Schedule 

May 1 - October 31

From Monday through Friday, except federal and state holidays, the draw shall remain closed from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., However, the draw shall open at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. for any vessels waiting to pass. The draw shall open on the hour and the half hour, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

November 1 - April 30 

From Monday through Friday, except federal and state holidays, the draw shall remain closed from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The draw shall open on signal from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Weekends & Holidays

On Saturday, Sunday and holidays year round, the draw shall open on the hour and half hour for vessels waiting to pass, except on July 4th of every year from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. the draw need not open for vessels. In the event of inclement weather, the alternate date is July 5th. 

The Weems Creek Swing Drawbridge can also be hailed on VHF 13, and via mobile at 410-263-3953. The draw shall open on signal from sunrise to sunset from May 1 through September 30. At all other times, the draw shall open on signal if at least 5 hours advance notice is given.
