COVID-19 has harmed many, residents have been sickened and some have died from the virus.
As a City, we have had to help residents navigate health care, help businesses navigate the reopening sequence and help everyone with access to resources, including grants, loans and other direct assistance. We will get to the other side of this pandemic because we are a community that cares.
The City of Annapolis is a partner to local business, and during COVID, we knew that businesses needed help. As part of the reopening sequence, the City established Recovery Zones to expand available outdoor seating and give restaurants and retail establishments an opportunity to expand into the sidewalk and street. Our Office of Economic Development created the Small Business Locator to help direct residents and visitors to local businesses. “We need to get our businesses open in a way that is safe for staff and the public,” said Mayor Gavin Buckley. “We know the City of Annapolis is a resilient city. We will bounce back from this pandemic and when we do, we want residents and visitors to come back.” More on Come Back Annapolis.
