Investing in Neighborhoods
Mayor Buckley seeks to ensure that the City continues to make investments in all wards of the City to enhance the quality of life for residents and make City amenities available and accessible to all residents.
“One Block at a Time” are neighborhood walks where businesses, non-profits, residents and students get an opportunity to chat with the Mayor and City staff about issues. Residents can point out living, working, recreation, public safety and other issues that the City departments can address and correct. The ombudsman works with outside agencies like BGE to replace and repair broken streetlights, or County and State agencies to ensure necessary repairs and upgrades are attended to. Mayor Buckley is enthusiastic about promoting public art. “Public art is there for everyone to enjoy. You don’t need to go to a museum or have the money to buy it and hang it in your house,” he said. The City of Annapolis has a robust catalog of public art. Visit the Art in Public Places page.
