Announcements from Annapolis Recreation and Parks in relation to COVID-19. 

Please also refer to the City of Annapolis Office of Emergency Management Office for information on the COVID-19 vaccination process in Anne Arundel County.

  • Fitness Classes - some IN PERSON classes are now available at PMRC; VIRTUAL classes also remain;

Facilities


"Pip" Moyer Recreation Center (PMRC)

PMRC is open at 50% capacity. The Department remains vigilant in keeping PMRC clean. This includes disinfecting exercise equipment, the indoor track, meeting rooms, common areas, and restrooms. Hand sanitizing stations are installed throughout the facility. While at PMRC, we ask that you remain 6’ apart from others to maintain physical distancing.

PMRC is open daily from 6 am to 8 pm. All persons must comply with the following: 

  • receive a temperature check upon entry
  • complete a brief questionnaire
  • wear a face covering or mask at all times while in the building (the only exception to remove a face covering or mask is when people are actively playing basketball during an officially organized program)
  • must bring your own exercise mat (fitness classes, cardio room, weight room, track)
  • must bring your own water bottle (use the refillable water station by the restrooms upstairs)

The following are closed and/or not available right now:

  • Kidz Zone babysitting is closed
  • Rock Climbing Wall is closed
  • Personal Training - personal training sessions are canceled indefinitely

Rentals are assigned only to government agencies, non-profit organizations, for-profit organizations, and other types of organizational meetings. We are not renting rooms for birthday, holiday, anniversary, family, and/or graduation celebrations at this time.

  • Please note that PMRC is open at 50% capacity and therefore meeting attendance must be reduced to abide by that allowance.

Stanton Community Center

Stanton is open daily from 8 am to 6 pm at 50% capacity. The Department remains vigilant in keeping Stanton clean. This includes disinfecting the gym, meeting rooms, common areas and restrooms. Hand sanitizing stations are installed throughout the facility. While at Stanton, we ask that you remain 6’ apart from others to maintain physical distancing. Upon entrance, all persons must comply with the following:

  • wear a face covering or mask at all times while in the building (the only exception to remove a face covering or mask is when people are actively playing basketball during an officially organized program)
  • receive a temperature check
  • complete a brief questionnaire

 The Dental Clinic remains closed.

Rentals are assigned only to government agencies, non-profit organizations, for-profit organizations, and other types of organizational meetings. We are not renting rooms or the facility for a birthday, holiday, anniversary, family, and/or graduation celebrations at this time.

Parks, Trails, and Outdoor Spaces

  • The following are OPEN and/or PERMITTED:
    • Jogging, walking, biking and hiking in City parks and trails
    • Playgrounds
    • Truxtun Skate Park
    • Truxtun Park Tennis Courts – only three tennis courts are open at this time; first-come, first-serve (most tennis courts and all pickleball courts remain under renovation/construction)
    • Outdoor Basketball Courts and Athletics Fields
    • Boat ramps in Truxtun Park and at Tucker Street
    • Pavilions
    • Outdoor Restrooms
  • Please remember physical distancing practices:

    • Limit gatherings of groups of people (stay 6 feet apart)
    • Avoid popular trails and outdoor areas
    • Allow adequate personal spacing in populated areas
    • Avoid congregating in parking lots
    • Wear a mask or face covering while in close proximity to others (even outdoors)
  • The following are CLOSED and/or NOT ALLOWED:
    • Outdoor water fountains
    • Large gatherings/picnics

Harbormaster

PUMP OUT IS IN SERVICE! The Pumpout Boat runs Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Call 410-320-6852 or VHF 17 for service.

Hours of Operation are daily from 7 am to 8 pm. We appreciate continued patience as we strive to protect employees and customers as much as possible.
