Penguins Swim Team
The City of Annapolis Penguins Swim Team is excited to swim at the new Kenneth R. Dunn Municipal Pool at Truxtun Park. Registration continues through Sunday, May 23.
The Truxtun Park Penguins and the Annapolis Swim Team Anemones merged to become one team starting the 2021 summer as the City of Annapolis Penguins.
The City of Annapolis Penguins Swim Team is for ages 5–18. Practice competitive strokes and compete with other teams in the Greater Annapolis Swim League! Uniforms are not included in the registration fee. Swim meets are held on Saturdays in June and July. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Registration is underway!
- All registration will close May 23, 2021. No late registration will be accepted. Registration includes the mandatory AAU insurance fee.
- City of Annapolis Resident $115 / Non-Resident $135
You must register in person at the "Pip" Moyer Recreation Center. The facility is open daily from 6 am to 8 pm.
To Note: tryouts for swimmers 10 & Under who were not on the Penguins or AST last year will be held at the Kenneth R. Dunn Municipal Pool on May 22 and 23 at 1 pm. Coaches will not be in the water with swimmers. There is a mandatory requirement that children can competently swim 25 yards of the pool, unassisted.
There will be infection-prevention protocols in place. We will share those in writing and in our MANDATORY virtual parents' meeting (date TBD).
Practices will be held on an A day and B day schedule. Please register for Mon/Wed (A day) OR Tue/Thu (B day) practices. This will be your assigned practice schedule for the season. There will be 4 swimmers per lane, properly distanced for 24 swimmers per practice session. Friday mornings at 7:30 am will be available to offer more instruction where needed.
Practice Schedule (begins Tuesday 6/2/21):
Practice Times (please pick one: M/W or T/Th)
Mon/Wed (A Day) practices:
Tue/Thu (B Day) practices:
8 & under
5:30 – 6:15 pm

6:15 – 7 pm
13 & over
7 – 8 pm
There will be four dual meets which will all be virtual. How do virtual meets work? We have no idea! But, we'll figure this out before June. Championship meets are also a work-in-progress.
The Championship meets are driven by time standards (we won’t know which meet your child qualifies for until after the first several meets.) Entry paperwork for championship meets is passed out two weeks prior these meets. It is the responsibility of parents to turn the paperwork in on time for children to be able to swim in their championship meet.
