Annapolis Police Arrest Two for Burglaries on Sunday
On Sunday, August 17th two juvenile males were arrested and charged with burglary. The juveniles were arrested for separate burglaries, but were stopped together Sunday morning.
The first burglary occurred in the Kingsport community on August 15th between 4 and 5 a.m. An open garage was entered and money was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked inside the garage. The home owner provided video surveillance images of the suspect to the police.
On August 17th at 2 a.m. an officer who had viewed the video surveillance stopped three juvenile males in Kingsport. The officer recognized one of the juveniles as the suspect in the burglary. The boy, a 16 year old from Annapolis, was arrested and charged with burglary, theft, and rogue and vagabond. He was on probation for a prior crime and was transported to Cheltenham Youth Facility. The two other juvenile males were not charged, but one was arrested later the same day for a subsequent burglary.
On August 17th at 2 p.m. a citizen on Oaklawn Av saw a juvenile male go into his neighbor’s open garage and take a bicycle. The citizen confronted the juvenile, but the boy rode off on the bicycle. The citizen alerted the bicycle owner of the theft and approximately 15 minutes later they saw the juvenile walking in the area. They ran after the boy and called the police. Officers located the juvenile, a 16 year old from Annapolis, near Forest Dr and Chinquapin Round Rd. The boy was arrested and charged with burglary and theft. The bicycle was found behind the juvenile’s home and returned to the owner. The same boy was part of the group stopped by officers at 2 a.m. in Kingsport.
The investigation into these burglaries is continuing. If you have any information about these incidents please contact detectives at 410-268-9000.
