Office of Emergency Management Releases New App


 
Annapolis, MD (8-11-14) Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides announced a new City app that will connect individuals with real-time information important to their daily routine.
 
The Office of Emergency Management released the app, Prepare Me Annapolis, which can be downloaded for free and will promptly send alerts, notifications, and other essential information, including:
• Traffic updates
• Severe weather updates
• School and government closings
• Power outage status
• CodeRED Sign Up
• Social media access
• Preparedness tips
• Contact information
 
“The Prepare Me Annapolis app puts real-time information in the hands of our residents and visitors, allowing them the most up-to-date information available to plan their workday or vacation,” Mayor Pantelides said.   “I hope that our citizens will make sure their family and friends download this free and helpful resource.”

“This is one more tool that Annapolis will use to keep the public informed,” Director Kevin Simmons added. “The City already takes advantage of the CodeRED community notification system, Facebook, Twitter, and www.annapolis.gov, and Prepare Me Annapolis is yet another way Annapolitans can receive information they need to know for their families, neighbors, friends, and businesses.”
