APD Media Release 05/08/13
This Saturday, May 11th, from 10am to 2pm the Annapolis Police Department will be one of many police agencies participating in Attorney General Doug Gansler’s First Annual Statewide Gun Turn-In Day.
Maryland’s Attorney General said of the event, “Any Marylander who has a gun that is no longer wanted will be able to get rid of it safely, no questions asked,” and there will be no ID required to surrender a weapon. Anyone can turn in unloaded handguns, rifles, shotguns, or air guns at 199 Taylor Av.
Transport and handle guns safely, unloaded. The gun does not need to be in working order. Ammunition can be turned in separately for disposal. When you arrive to turn in your unloaded gun, keep it secured in your vehicle then contact one of the Police Department personnel inside for further instructions. Please contact Sgt. Dave Miguez at 410-268-9000 or firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions prior to or during the turn-in event.
