Media Advisory - Celebration of Art in Public Places

Who: Annapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen, Art In Public Places Commission Chair Tom Fridrich, members of the Arts Commission, and artist Robert Donovan

What: The Art In Public Places Commission welcomes the new sculpture with a dedication of “Shoal” at Westgate Circle. Artist Robert Donovan’s recently completed installation, set atop the grassy knoll inside Westgate Circle, is the culmination of a two year effort by the commission to add a new sculptural presence to the City.

Funded by a City grant, the Westgate Circle project is intended to be a revolving exhibit changing every two years. Mr. Donovan was chosen from three finalists after commission review and a public comment period.  The public is encouraged to attend.
