Annapolis Police Warrants Lead to Money, Guns, and Drugs

 

Annapolis, MD – July 19, 2012

 

On Wednesday, July 18, 2012, detectives with the Annapolis Police Drug Enforcement Unit and officers from SWAT executed search and seizure warrants at two locations in Annapolis.  These warrants were the result of a brief investigation that stemmed from community complaints of illegal drug activity and reliable information received by officers. 

 

At 3:40 p.m. officers executed a search warrant at 112 West Washington Street. Officers located 114.9 grams of heroin in the kitchen.  A loaded 9mm M&P handgun, loaded 9mm Beretta handgun, two boxes of 9mm ammunition, 28.6 grams of heroin, 151 grams of marijuana, and $17,000 cash were located in an upstairs bedroom.  Cortez Marshall, 19, of Annapolis was located in the residence.  Marshall was arrested and charged with CDS possession with intent to distribute narcotics, CDS possession not marijuana, possession of CDS paraphernalia, possession of large amount of CDS with intent to distribute, and possession of large amount of narcotics with intent to distribute. Marshall was released after posting a $40,000 bond.

 

The estimated street value of the heroin is $28,700.00 and the estimated value of the marijuana is $3,100.00.  Both handguns recovered were reported stolen.  The M&P handgun was reported stolen through Annapolis Police and the Beretta handgun was reported stolen through the ATF.

 

At about the same time officers executed a search warrant at 52 Pleasant Street.  Officers located 2.4 grams of heroin, seven individually packaged folds of powdered heroin weighing a total of 6.3 grams, and 0.2 grams of powdered cocaine in the residence.  Robert Taylor, 44, of Annapolis was located in the residence.  Taylor was arrested and charged with CDS possession with intent to distribute, two counts of CDS possession not marijuana, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.  Taylor is being held on $45,000 bond at Jennifer Road Detention Center.

 

The estimated street value of the heroin is $1,740.00 and the estimated value of the cocaine is $20.00.
