Mitigation Plan Presented at Public Safety Committee Meeting

Annapolis, MD (7-13-12) Annapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen urges the public to attend the next Public Safety Committee meeting and offer input on the City of Annapolis Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan Update.  The meeting is Monday, July 16 at 7:00 p.m. in City Council chambers.

“This is our roadmap when it comes to planning for mitigating the potential impact of natural disasters,” Mayor Josh Cohen said. “I invite business owners and home owners to attend this meeting and help the City assess the impact that a range of disasters might have on the City.”

The previous Hazard Mitigation Plan was approved by state and federal authorities in 2006.  The Plan must be updated periodically in order for Annapolis to be eligible for disaster reimbursement funding.

The Plan is available at and at City Hall.  The public is encouraged to review the plan and attend the meeting to provide comments and feedback.
