APD Media Release 06/29/12
The Annapolis Police Department will have extra officers on patrol specifically looking for impaired drivers this Fourth of July.
Officers will be conducting DUI saturation patrols on Wednesday, July 4th in an effort to reduce the number of persons killed or injured in alcohol involved crashes. DUI saturation patrols are conducted to identify impaired drivers and get them off the street, as well as educate the public on the dangers of impaired driving.
Our objective is to send a clear message to those who are considering driving a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol and/or drugs that they will be stopped and they will be arrested. The public is encouraged to help keep our roadways safe and to report drunk drivers. Call 911 whenever you see a suspected impaired driver.
