Annapolis Memorial Day Parade

Annapolis, MD (5-21-12) Annapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen announces The Historic Annapolis Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 28.  All Veteran organizations, marching bands, community organizations and patriotic organizations are invited to join the parade as we honor and remember those who have died serving our country.

“The parade, steeped in tradition, offers us an opportunity to pay our respect to the men and woman who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” Mayor Cohen said. “I hope you will all, or in your own way, pay respect to the memories of these defenders of freedom.”

This year, the line-up begins at 8:30 a.m. at Amos Garrett Blvd.  The parade kicks off at 10:00 a.m. and follows the traditional route down West Street, around Church Circle, down Main Street, ending at City Dock.

Immediately following the parade will be the annual wreath laying ceremony, hosted by the Fleet Reserve.  This ceremony is open to the public and all are welcome.
