Sweet Hearts Patisserie - A Taste of France in Annapolis

Annapolis, MD (5-17-12) Annapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen and Annapolis Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) President and CEO Lara Fritts are pleased to announce the grand opening of Sweet Hearts Patisserie.

The specialty pastry shop and catering company, located at Clock Tower Place, 1410 Forest Drive in Annapolis, is owned by pastry chef Kristen D'Angelo. A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at Sweet Hearts Patisserie on Saturday, May 19, at 10:00 a.m.

“Sweet Hearts Patisserie delivers a deliciously creative perspective to the traditional bakery,” Mayor Cohen said. “Unique shops like this only add to the enduring appeal of our City and highlight our distinctive character.”

Sweet Hearts Patisserie can cater a dessert table for your next event. While they are known for their petit fours, the shop also specializes in custom cookies, tarts, cupcakes and cakes.

The shop also specializes in creating a theme for your event and using your favorite flavors to fashion a spectacular buffet of sweets. The treats are perfect for tea parties, showers, birthdays, anniversaries, sweet 16s and weddings. They also make wedding cakes and special occasion cakes.

“Sweet Hearts Patisserie is the perfect example of turning a passion into a business,” said AEDC President and CEO Lara Fritts.  “I applaud Ms. D'Angelo’s entrepreneurial approach of creating a business around doing what makes you happy. We all wish her sweet success.”

“As the name might suggest, there is a lot of love that goes into each and every pastry at Sweet Hearts,” Ms. D'Angelo said. “My philosophy is that it is always better to enjoy a small bite of something heavenly than it is to eat way too much of something that is just OK. That is the basis of all my creations, and I hope that every person who eats one my pastries enjoys it thoroughly.”

Sweet Hearts Patisserie is open Monday though Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. For more information, go to www.sweetheartspatisserie.com or call (410) 263-6513.
