Bike to Work Day 2014
On Friday May 30th, 2014, Annapolis and regional bicycle commuters celebrated Bike 2 Work Day by joining the Annapolis Regional Transportation Management Association (ARTMA), the Annapolis Department of Transportation from 7:00 a.m. ~ 8:30 a.m. at the Annapolis City dock (next to the Market House). Although rain washed our original plans, over 40 riders still showed (with no coffee table in sight!) and rode to work!
We will make sure to speak with Mother nature before next year's event to ensure good weather. We'll invite back all of our normal vendors for refreshments and bike safety checks.
For more information, click here or call ARTMA at 410-897-9340/410-269-RIDE.
May is National Bike Month and Clean Air Month. With our region's major traffic congestion and air pollution problems, one way to relieve these problems is to turn car commuters into bike commuters, especially for short commutes of five miles or less. The Bike 2 Work Day rally is a great way to promote the benefits of bicycling and we need your support! Click here for information about cycling in Annapolis.
Bike to Work Day and National Bike Month is just the start however. There is no reason why biking to work cannot be a 24/7, 365 days a year part of your life!
See you next year!
