Fall GreenScape will be held on Saturday, October 26th in the City of Annapolis. This is also the date for national "Make a Difference Day"! Learn details about bulb ordering and pick up here.
GreenScape is a City and community partnership investment of beautification, clean-up, and planting in public spaces throughout the City of Annapolis. GreenScape was founded through the efforts of former Mayor Ellen Moyer and the Annapolis Recreation and Parks Advisory Board. For more than 20 years, hundreds of projects have been initiated and adopted by individuals, community groups and neighborhood associations. GreenScape takes place each spring and fall.
"Growing Native" Seed Collection Project
A few years ago, Annapolis residents participated in the "Growing Native" seed collection project. Volunteers collected acorns and other hardwood tree and shrub seeds throughout Truxtun Park. The seeds were donated to state nurseries in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, and planted to restore streamside forests throughout 15,000 square miles of watershed. For more information about the Growing Native initiative, visit www.growingnative.org. To learn more details about local seed collection projects, contact Marisa Wittlinger at email@example.com.
