APD Daily Report 01/27/14

In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 324 calls for service and arrested 44 people.

Theft of Bicycle – 201400000359 – 200 block of Old Solomons Island Rd – 01/23 from 4pm to 4:45pm:  An unsecured red and black men’s mountain bicycle was stolen from the front of the business.

Armed Robbery – 201400000373 – 900 block of West St – 01/24 at 12:30pm:  A man entered the business, displayed a gun, and demanded money from the employee.  He fled the area on foot.

Attempted Burglary – 201400000386 – Unit block of Juliana Circle – 01/24 from 10am to 9:45pm:  The rear screen door was removed, but the home was not entered.

Robbery – 201400000394 – 600 block of Americana Dr – 01/24 at 2:20am:  On 01/24 at 10am officers received a report that during a party the night before three male victims were assaulted and robbed inside an apartment.  The suspects were a group also attending the party, they took items from the apartment during the assault.

Stolen Vehicle – 201400000395 – 1700 block of Belle Dr – 01/25 from 10:20am to 10:30am:  A black 2008 Buick Le Sabre, MD reg. 7AC5821, was stolen when it was left running unattended and unlocked with the key in the ignition.  The vehicle has a broken right taillight and a sandal sticker on the rear window.  

Robbery – 201400000413 – 900 block of Boucher Av – 01/26 at 4:40am:  The adult male victim was walking in the area when two people he knew previously, Chad Prairie, 41, and Terri Walston, 39, both of Annapolis, drove up in a vehicle.  Prairie got out of the vehicle and swung a knife at the victim.  Prairie took the victim’s jacket.  Walston then tried to run over the victim with the vehicle.  Officers arrived and arrested Prairie and Walston.  Prairie and Walston were both charged with robbery, attempted first degree assault, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.  Both are being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center, Prairie on $75,000 bond and Walston on $60,000 bond. 

Stolen and Recovered Vehicle – 201400000414 – 200 block of Boxwood Rd – 01/26 from 8:30am to 8:40am:  A silver 1999 Acura 3.2CL was stolen when it was left running unattended and unlocked with the key in the ignition.  A short time later officers discovered the vehicle parked and unoccupied in the unit block of Silopanna Rd.

Purse Snatching – 201400000418 – 1000 block of Spa Rd – 01/26 at 4:30pm:  The adult female victim was walking in the area when a man got out of a vehicle and grabbed her purse.  He immediately got back in the vehicle and drove away.

Theft from Vehicle – 201400000424 – 1000 block of Norman Dr – 01/26 from 12:30am to 9am:  Money and a small grey portable Bluetooth speaker were taken from an unlocked vehicle.

Shots Fired – 201400000426 – 200 block of Bertina Nick Way – 01/26 at 10pm:  Officers responded to the area for a report of shots fired, no evidence or victims were located at that time.  At 11pm officers received a report of a vehicle damaged by a gun shot.  Preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was being driven in the area of Clay St when it was struck by the bullet.  On 01/27 at 4am damage to the glass in the front door of the Arundel Center was reported.  The damage was caused by a bullet and might have occurred during the earlier shots fired incident.  Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Officer Robert Reese at 410-268-9000 or rsreese@annapolis.gov

Stolen and Recovered Vehicle – 201400000427 – 100 block of Obery Ct – 01/26 from 8pm to 9:30pm:  A gray 2003 Chevrolet Suburban was stolen.  The vehicle was apparently unlocked with a spare key inside.  The vehicle was recovered in Prince Georges County prior to its being reported stolen.
