APD Daily Report 11/06/13

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 73 calls for service and arrested 5 people.

Attempted Theft of Bicycle – 201300005383 – Unit block of Silopanna Rd – 11/04 at 3:26pm:  An observant citizen saw a man with a hack saw trying to saw through a cable lock securing a bicycle.  The citizen confronted the man and he fled on foot towards the Children’s Museum.  The man was described as an African American male, approximately 18 years old, 5’8”, 170 lbs, with a rash under his left eye, last seen wearing a camouflage jacket and blue jeans with a rip in the left knee.

Theft from Vehicle – 201300005391 – 700 block of Monterey Av – 11/04 at 11pm to 11/05 at 6:45am:  Money and a bag containing craft supplies were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Attempted Robbery – 201300005400 – Primrose Rd at Primrose Ct – 11/05 at 2:34pm:  A 15 year old boy was walking home when he was grabbed around the neck from behind by a male suspect demanding his iPhone and iPod.  The 15 year old refused to give up the electronics and the suspect assaulted him until a passing motorist stopped to help.  The suspect fled the area on foot into the woods and the police were called.  The suspect was identified as a juvenile that attends the same school as the victim.  He has not been located.

Attempted Armed Robbery – 201300005403 – Unit block of Pleasant St – 11/05 at 9:30pm:  A cab driver came into the area to pick up a fare when an adult male flagged him down.  The man got into the cab and pointed a handgun at the driver’s head, demanding his cell phone and money.  The driver started struggling with the suspect and was struck in the head with the gun.  As they were struggling, the cab was in motion and struck two parked cars.  The driver fled the vehicle after the accident and so did the suspect.  The driver had injuries to his head, but he refused medical treatment.
