APD Daily Report 08/26/13

In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 288 calls for service and arrested 29 people.

Attempted Theft from Vehicle – 201300004013 – 500 block of Burnside St – 08/24 at 1:30am:  A woman called the police when she saw a man inside her unlocked vehicle.  She confronted the man and he ran away down Chester Av.  Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle.

Auto Theft – 201300004015 – 1300 block of Stonecreek Dr – 08/23 at 10:30pm to 08/24 at 5am:  A 1994 Toyota Camry was stolen from the driveway of the residence.  The vehicle was later located by the owner off of Taylor Av.  There were no signs of forced entry or damage to the vehicle.

Theft from Vehicle – 201300004033 – 500 block of Second St – 08/24 at 8:30pm to 08/25 at 6am:  The passenger side window of the vehicle was smashed with a rock and an Amazon Kindle tablet and a bottle of wine were taken from the vehicle.

New School Year
Anne Arundel County Schools begin the new school year today.  Parents, students, teachers, and bus drivers will be headed to school.  Please be cautious and watch out for them.   

Annapolis Police Department One Mile Challenge
The APD One Mile Challenge to benefit Special Olympics Maryland will be held on Saturday, September 7th starting at 8am.  This is a scenic 1 mile run through historic downtown.  Participants can run, jog, or walk. Dogs and strollers are welcome.  You can register at www.annapolis1mile.com

Special Olympics Maryland provides free sports training and competition programs for intellectually disabled children and adults year round.  These programs increase the participant’s social skills and self-confidence.  The programs also improve their health and well-being.  To find out more about Special Olympics Maryland go to www.somd.org.  If you can’t participate in the APD One Mile Challenge to benefit Special Olympics Maryland please consider sponsoring someone for this worthy, very helpful cause.
