APD Daily Report 08/02/13

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 99 calls for service and arrested 4 people.

Burglary – 201300003588 – Unit block of Old Solomons Island Rd – 07/29 at 6pm to 07/31 at 7:30am:  The door to the business was pried open.  A safe inside the business was damaged, but it appeared to be unopened.  Nothing appeared to have been taken from the business.  Another business in the same building had damage to their office door, but no one was able to enter that business.

Theft of Motor Scooter – 201300003599 – 700 block of Rosedale St – 08/01 at 1:40am:  An officer patrolling in the area of the 900 block of Spa Rd noticed a scooter lying on the sidewalk with the engine running.  No one was around the scooter and it was taken to the police station till the owner could be located.  At 11am the owner contacted police to report that the scooter had been stolen from in front of his home prior to the officer recovering it.

Auto Theft – 201300003605 – Unit block of Spa Rd – 07/31 at 7pm to 08/01 at 11:30am:  A white 2006 Jeep Commander, MD reg. 755M122, was stolen.  The vehicle has a sticker on the front windshield that reads, “Aloha”.

National Night Out 2013

Annapolis Police Department One Mile Challenge
The APD One Mile Challenge to benefit Special Olympics Maryland will be held on Saturday, September 7th starting at 8am.  This is a scenic 1 mile run through historic downtown.  Participants can run, jog, or walk. Dogs and strollers are welcome.  You can register at www.annapolis1mile.com

Special Olympics Maryland provides free sports training and competition programs for intellectually disabled children and adults year round.  These programs increase the participant’s social skills and self-confidence.  The programs also improve their health and well-being.  To find out more about Special Olympics Maryland go to www.somd.org.  If you can’t participate in the APD One Mile Challenge to benefit Special Olympics Maryland please consider sponsoring someone, a police officer, or Chief Pristoop, for this worthy, very helpful cause.
