APD Daily Report 08/01/14

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 123 calls for service and arrested 14 people.

Burglary – 201400003837 – 701 Chase St – 07/31 at 3:20am:  Officers responded to an intrusion alarm at Bates Middle School when they discovered the rear doors had been forced open.  Officers searched the school, but could not locate anyone inside.  Thieves tried to force open a vending machine inside the building, but nothing appeared to have been stolen.    

Watch Your Bike Program – Now Register Online!
In July, 21 bicycles were reported stolen in Annapolis.  The Annapolis Police Department has a Watch Your Bike program.  The program records your bicycle's serial number, manufacturer, and color in our database.  Contact Cpl. Green Dot MoneyPak Scams
Watch out for Green Dot MoneyPak scams. Recently an Annapolis business was scammed by a caller asking for payment for utility bills by Green Dot MoneyPak cards. National Night Out 2014
Mark your calendars for National Night Out 2014.  It will be held on Tuesday, August 5 from 5pm to 8pm at the Annapolis Walk Community Park at 1701 Belle Drive.  You are invited to join millions nationwide for America’s Night Out against crime!  Help build a stronger, safer community by joining forces and participating in National Night Out.  Please come and join the fun!  There will be a moonbounce, obstacle course, poster contest, K-9 demonstration, honor guard presentation, identification cards for children, food and refreshments, and much more!  Please contact Patti Norris at 410-268-9000 ext 7251 or e-mail pmnorris@annapolis.gov for more information.

No Citizen Fingerprinting in August
The Annapolis Police Department will not be conducting citizen fingerprinting in August.  Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, September 8 at 5pm.
