APD Daily Report 05/27/14

In the last 96 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 442 calls for service and arrested 43 people.

Stolen Vehicle – 201400002547- St. Marys St at Duke of Gloucester St – 05/21 at 8pm to 05/22 at 12pm:  A silver 1998 Acura Integra two door, MD reg. 5EZJ94, was stolen.  The vehicle has a UNH (University of New Hampshire) sticker on the rear window.  The vehicle had a spare key kept inside and was apparently left unlocked.

Theft from Vehicle – 201400002556 – 900 block of Van Buren St – 05/22 at 4pm to 05/23 at 8:20am:  Money and a set of keys were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Theft from Vehicle – 201400002557 – 1000 block of Van Buren St - 05/22 at 5pm to 05/23 at 8:20am:  A pop-up banner sign for a church Sunday school was stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle. 

Robbery – 201400002560 – 700 block of Chase St – 05/23 at 3:30pm:  A group of boys were at the fields behind the school when they were approached by three men.  The men asked the boys for a cell phone and stole an Apple iPod from one of the boy’s pockets.  Another boy refused to give up his black Apple iPhone 4 and two of the men pushed and punched him and when he fell to the ground they kicked him and stole the cell phone from his pocket.

Burglary – 201400002563 – 1100 block of Cove Rd – 05/23 from 7am to 6:30pm:  An Xbox 360 game console with two controllers and 20 games, jewelry, money, and a purple Dell laptop computer were stolen after the apartment patio’s sliding glass door was pried open.

Theft from Vehicle – 201400002567 – 1900 block of Copeland St – 05/19 from 2pm to 4pm:  A Mossberg 500 series pump action 12 gauge shotgun was stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle.

Assault – 201400002580 – 600 block of Greenbriar La – 05/24 at 7:20am:  Mamadou Bah, 21, of Annapolis was arrested after assaulting an adult female relative.  Bah grabbed the woman by the throat and strangled her.  Bah then kicked her, threw a dog gate at her, and threatened to stab her with a kitchen knife.  The woman ran out of the home and a neighbor called the police.  Bah was arrested and charged with first and second degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, reckless endangerment, and destruction of property.  Bah is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $750,000 bond.   

Theft of Bicycles – 201400002585 – 1400 block of West St – 05/24 from 2pm to 2:15pm:  A silver Mongoose BMX boy’s bicycle and a black Huffy BMX boy’s bicycle were stolen from a bike rack.  The bicycles were not secured to the rack.

Theft of Bicycle – 201400002615 – Unit block of Dogwood Rd – 05/25 from 11am to 6pm:  A green and black Avigo boy’s bicycle was stolen from the front yard of the home.

Theft of Bicycle – 201400002618 – 100 block of Monticello Av – 05/09 at 6pm to 05/11 at 10am:  A grey, red, and white Trek mountain bicycle was stolen from the front porch of the home.

Stolen Vehicle – 201400002622 – 600 block of Americana Dr – 05/24 at 5pm to 05/26 at 3pm:  A grey Toyota Prius was stolen after the owner lost the keys in the parking lot.  The vehicle was recovered in Prince Georges County on 05/26. 

Theft of Bicycles – 201400002624 – 1700 block of Hunt Meadow Dr – 05/26 from 4:30pm to 4:45pm:  A white Jamis Trail XR girl’s bicycle, a grey Giant mountain bicycle, and a white Mongoose BMX child’s bicycle were stolen from a bike rack.  The bicycles were not secured to the rack.

Armed Robbery – 201400002628 – 200 block of Center St – 05/26 at 4:30am:  An adult male was walking to his apartment when he was threatened by a man with a pocket knife.  The suspect took the victim’s wallet from his pocket and fled on foot.

Burglary – 201400002629 – 200 block of Victor Pkwy – 05/26 from 5pm to 10pm:  Jewelry was stolen after the home was entered through an unlocked window.
