APD Daily Report 03/21/14

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 94 calls for service and arrested 13 people.

Good News - Detectives from the Annapolis Police Department brought charges against two men for the only unsolved homicide in 2013.  Tahzay Brown, 24, of Glen Burnie and Todd Brown, 25, of Annapolis were arrested and charged with the murder of John Ray, 32, of Huntingtown.  Mr. Ray was shot and killed in the 200 block of Victor Pkwy on April 21, 2013.  Tahzay Brown has been released from the Jennifer Road Detention after posting $500,000 bond.  Todd Brown is being held without bond.

Theft from Vehicle – 201400001356 – 600 block of Taylor Av – 03/19 from 9am to 9:30am:  A brown Louis Vuitton briefcase, containing a white Apple iPad 2 and a white gold wedding band and diamond engagement ring, was stolen from behind the front passenger seat of an apparently unlocked vehicle.  The total value of items taken is over $9,000.

Burglary – 201400001367 – Unit block of Bens Dr - 03/20 from 3:30pm to 10:30pm:  After an unknown suspect entered through an unlocked ground floor window, a locked bedroom door was forced open inside the residence.  Nothing was taken from the home.

Armed Robbery – 201400001371 – 900 block of Bay Ridge Rd – 03/21 at 3:15am:  Two men entered the business and one of them jumped over the counter and displayed a handgun.  Both men took money, packs of Newport cigarettes, and Dutch Master cigars from the business.  An employee’s purse and cell phone were also stolen.  The suspects fled the business and could not be located.
