APD Daily Report 03/10/14

In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 314 calls for service and arrested 49 people.

Theft from Vehicle – 201400001049 – 1700 block of West St – 03/01 at 6pm to 03/04 at 7:30am:  A wheel and a 17” Nexen tire were stolen from a parked Acura. 

Burglary – 201400001131 – Unit block of Parole St – 02/28 at 4pm to 03/08 at 12pm:  A shed was forced open and a girl’s purple BMX FSG bicycle was stolen. 

– 201400001134 – Forest Dr near Newtowne Dr – 03/08 at 5:15pm:  Officers responded to the area for a report of dirt bikes being ridden in the area.  Officers observed three dirt bikes in the area being driven recklessly.  An officer parked in the area and began taking photographs of the dirt bikes.  One driver, later identified as Edgar Poteat, 28, of Annapolis, began ramming the police car from behind with the dirt bike, and then he began kicking the passenger side front quarter panel.  When more officers arrived on scene Poteat fled, crashing the dirt bike in the 900 block of Spa Rd.  Poteat was arrested and charged with first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, destruction of property over $1,000 and under $1,000, trespass, theft of motor vehicle over $1,000, and numerous traffic charges, including driving while revoked.  Poteat was released after posting $25,000 bond.  The dirt bike was found to be stolen from Baltimore. 

Burglary – 201400001149 – Unit block of Acton Pl – 03/07 at 1pm to 03/09 at 9am:  The front door to the home was forced open.  It is unknown if anything was stolen from the home.

Burglary – 201400001153 – 300 block of Bloomsbury Sq – 02/28 at 12:01am to 03/08 at 12pm:  A Browning 12 gauge shotgun and an LC Smith 16 gauge shotgun were stolen from a home.  There was no sign of forced entry.
