In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 321 calls for service and arrested 35 people.
Theft from Vehicle – 201400000876 – Unit block of Compromise St – 02/21 from 10:45pm to 10:50pm: An observant citizen called the police when he noticed a man walking in the area of the Eastport Bridge with a purse in his hands. Officers located the man, who still had the purse, and identified him as Nathaniel Sollers, 52, of Annapolis. Officers located the owner of the purse and discovered that the purse was stolen from her apparently unlocked vehicle which was parked in the unit block of Compromise St. Sollers was arrested and charged with theft from $1,000 to under $10,000. He was released by the District Court Commissioner without bond.
Burglary – 201400000881 – 200 block of Prince George St – 02/22 from 2:30am to 3am: A white Apple MacBook laptop computer, an Apple iPod Touch, and prescription medication were stolen from an apparently unlocked apartment.
Theft from Vehicle – 201400000889 – Unit block of Newman St – 02/22 from 3pm to 8:45pm: A black Coach purse, a small beige Coach purse, Versace perfume, Ray Ban sunglasses, and a Garmin GPS unit were stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle.
Assault – 201400000904 – 1400 block of Tyler Av – 02/23 at 6:30pm: Tameka Wright, 36, of Annapolis and her neighbor were arguing about cleaning up after Wright’s dog when Wright assaulted her neighbor with a kitchen knife. The adult female neighbor suffered a small laceration to her hand. Wright was charged with first and second degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, and reckless endangerment. Wright is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $65,000 bond.
Stolen Vehicle – 201400000906 – 500 block of South Cherry Grove Av – 02/23 at 7:20pm: Officers responded to the area for a report of an accident and located a motorcycle lying on its side. Through investigation it was determined that the motorcycle had been stolen by Ellis Smith, 27, of Annapolis. Earlier the same day the motorcycle’s owner parked it next to a vehicle in the area. Smith was seen trying the door handles of the vehicle and then getting on the motorcycle and moving it to the location where it was found lying on its side. Officers searched the area for Smith and located him on Greenbriar La. Smith was arrested and charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, theft from $1,000 to under $10,000, two counts of rogue and vagabond, and malicious destruction of property. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $10,000 bond.
