Green Dot MoneyPak Scams
Annapolis Police Department has received two reports of Annapolis businesses becoming victims of a telephone scam utilizing Green Dot MoneyPak cards.  In both instances the callers identified themselves as representatives of BG&E.  The callers requested payment for an unpaid bill using Green Dot MoneyPak cards.  The businesses obtained cards and then provided the numbers to the callers allowing them to remove the money from the cards.  Be suspicious if you are contacted by someone demanding immediate payment and especially payment utilizing Green Dot MoneyPak cards.  For more information about scams using MoneyPak cards visit http://www.aarp.org/money/scams-fraud/info-04-2012/avoid-moneypak-scams.1.html.
