APD Daily Report 01/14/14

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 110 calls for service and arrested 11 people.

Theft from Vehicle – 201400000186 – Unit block of Wardour Dr – 01/12 at 6pm to 01/13 at 4am:  An unlocked vehicle was entered, but it is unknown if anything was stolen at this time. 

Robbery – 201400000196 – Silopanna Rd near Boxwood Rd – 01/13 at 3:30pm:  A 13 year old boy was walking home when he was approached by another boy who demanded his cell phone.  The suspect pushed the boy to the ground and started checking his pockets.  The suspect struck the boy several times in the nose and the back of his head.  The suspect took the boy’s Apple iPhone 5S and ran from the area on Boxwood Rd.

Theft from Vehicle – 201400000198 – 300 block of Canterfield Rd – 01/13 from 4:35pm to 6:30pm:  A white Apple iPhone 4 was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Shooting – 201400000199 – 700 block of Newtowne Dr – 01/13 at 7:47pm:  Devonte Simms, 19, of Annapolis was walking in the area when he heard a gunshot and started running.  As he was running he heard a second gunshot and was struck once in the foot.  Simms was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center for a non-life threatening injury.  Anyone with information about this shooting is urged to contact Detective Charles Bealefeld at 410-268-9000 ext. 7299 or cebealefeld@annapolis.gov.
