APD Daily Report 12/18/13

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 83 calls for service and arrested 9 people.

Good News – The Annapolis Police Department held its Second Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on December 16th.  Ten volunteers who together have worked more than 1,000 hours this year were recognized for their assistance to the department.  For more information about volunteering at the Annapolis Police Department please contact Captain Cynthia Howard at 410-268-9000 ext. 7242 or choward@annapolis.gov.

Theft from Vehicle
– 201300006154 – Unit block of Southgate Av – 12/15 at 8:30pm to 12/16 at 6am:  Money was taken from an unlocked vehicle. 

Thefts from Vehicles – 201300006157 – Unit block of Silverwood Ct – 12/17 at 1am:  An observant citizen reported seeing a man entering several unlocked vehicles and trying door handles in the parking lot.  Officers arrived on scene and discovered Damien King, 28, of Annapolis crouched down next to a vehicle.  One of the officers recognized King and knew King had two open warrants for violations of probation.  King ran from the officers, but was apprehended in the area.  He was arrested and is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.  King was seen trying the door handles of approximately 17 vehicles, seven or eight of which were unlocked.  Charges will be filed against King on these new charges following further investigation.
