APD Daily Report 10/30/13

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 119 calls for service and arrested 16 people.

Good News – On 10/28 Detectives from Annapolis Police Department arrested Lowell Hawkins, 23, of Millersville for the shooting of Marcus Johnson on Bens Drive on October 27.  Hawkins is charged with eleven counts including attempted first and second degree murder.  He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.  Officers are investigating the circumstances of the shooting.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Tom Pyles at 410-268-9000 ext. 5765 or email tnpyles@annapolis.gov.

Attempted Robbery – 201300005246 – 100 block of Hillsmere Dr - 10/29 at 1pm:  An adult man was walking in the area when he was approached by an African American man who asked for a cigarette and then asked for money.  The man replied that he had no money and the suspect pulled a knife out of his pocket and ordered the man to show him that he didn’t have any money.  The suspect looked away from the man, who then fled on foot and called police.  Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.  The suspect is described as an African American man, 35 to 45 years old, 6’0”, medium build, with slight facial hair with some grey in it.  The suspect had a black patch over his left eye, and was wearing a black silk type head covering, a black hooded sweatshirt, and dirty blue jeans.

Citizen Fingerprinting
Starting November 1, 2013 citizen fingerprinting will be offered Mondays from 5pm to 8pm instead of Tuesdays.
