APD Daily Report 09/09/13

In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 320 calls for service and arrested 39 people.

Good News – On 09/07 Officers from Annapolis Police Department recovered a vehicle that was stolen in Anne Arundel County.  An officer from Annapolis Police Department was patrolling in the 1800 block of Bowman Dr in a vehicle equipped with license plate readers, as he passed a vehicle the system alerted him that the vehicle had been reported stolen.  The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver and passenger fled the vehicle on foot and could not be located.  The vehicle’s owner was notified of the recovery.

Attempted Robbery – 201300004254 – 1000 block of President St – 09/04 at 6pm:  On September 5th a woman reported an attempted robbery that occurred the previous day.  The woman was walking to her apartment when she was approached by a heavy set African American woman, 35 to 40 years old with her hair in a ponytail and wearing a light blue or green blouse and yellow shorts.  The suspect grabbed the woman by the arm and demanded money.  The suspect forced her way into the woman’s apartment and checked her clothing for money.  After not finding money on the woman, the suspect checked the furniture in the bedroom for money.  The suspect found no money and left the apartment.

Theft from Vehicle – 201300004277 – 700 block of Bay Ridge Av – 09/05 at 7:30pm to 09/06 at 6am:  A gold nylon bag containing Craftsman hand tools, a pair of black binoculars, and a bag of quarters were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
