In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 85 calls for service and arrested 4 people.
Good News – On 08/05 the silver mountain bicycle that was stolen on 08/04 from the 300 block of Severn Av was found in the 800 block of Chester Av. The bicycle was abandoned on the side of the road. The bicycle was returned to its owner.
Theft from Vehicle – 201300003662 – 700 block of Newtowne Dr – 08/04 from 5pm to 6pm: Money was taken from an apparently unlocked vehicle.
Theft from Vehicle – 201300003666 – Unit block of Boxwood Rd – 08/04 at 8pm to 08/05 at 6:30am: The vehicle’s driver’s side window was smashed and money and a Garmin GPS unit were stolen.
Burglary – 201300003667 – Unit block of Dock St – 08/03 at 11pm to 08/05 at 6:30am: The lock on the rear garage door to the business was cut and the business’s safe was stolen.
Armed Robbery – 201300003675 – 1700 block of Belle Dr – 08/05 at 8:30pm: An adult male was walking in the area when he was attacked from behind by a man who pulled him behind the houses. The attacker threatened the man with a knife and demanded money. The man struggled and the attacker used the knife to cut the man’s short’s pocket open and remove his keys and wallet. The attacker fled the area on foot.
National Night Out 2013
National Night Out 2013 will be held this afternoon from 4pm to 7pm at the Boys and Girls Club of Annapolis at 121 South Villa Avenue. Annapolis Police Department One Mile Challenge
The APD One Mile Challenge to benefit Special Olympics Maryland will be held on Saturday, September 7th starting at 8am. This is a scenic 1 mile run through historic downtown. Participants can run, jog, or walk. Dogs and strollers are welcome. You can register at www.annapolis1mile.com.
Special Olympics Maryland provides free sports training and competition programs for intellectually disabled children and adults year round. These programs increase the participant’s social skills and self-confidence. The programs also improve their health and well-being.
