APD Daily Report 07/29/13

In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 266 calls for service and arrested 28 people.

Good News – On 07/27 at 12pm officers recovered a stolen scooter that had not been reported stolen yet.  An officer observed two subjects pushing a motor scooter on Conduit St, when officers stopped to investigate they discovered that the scooter had just been stolen from the 100 block of Duke of Gloucester St.  Officers located the owner of the scooter because it was registered with MVA.  The scooter was stolen from the porch of the residence.  Larry Hucks, 19, of Annapolis and a 14 year old boy from Glen Burnie were charged with theft.  The juvenile was served a juvenile citation and released to a family member, Hucks was charged with theft less than $1,000 and is being held on $3,000 bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.

Theft of Bicycle – 201300003511 – 400 block of Taylor Av – 07/25 at 5pm to 07/26 at 5pm:  A green KHS mountain bicycle with a stamp from Pennsylvania on the frame was stolen from the yard of the residence. 

Burglary – 201300003527 – 900 block of West St – 07/26 at 11pm to 07/27 at 7am:  A garage door leading into the business was forced open.  Money and 25 cartons of cigarettes were stolen.

Theft from Vehicle
– 201300003528 – 1400 block of Hunting Wood Rd – 07/19 at 7:30pm to 07/20 at 8am:  A black Apple iPhone 4 and a black Samsung flip phone were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. 

Thefts from Boats – 201300003530 – 500 block of Severn Av – 07/27 from 3:30am to 4:30am:  A Yamaha outboard motor and Tohatsu 9.8hp outboard motor were stolen from two dry docked boats.

Armed Robbery – 201300003552 – Calvert St near West St – 07/29 at 3:35am:  An officer was flagged down by an adult male reporting that two juveniles had stolen his bag.  After searching for the juveniles the officer spoke to the man again who now said that the two juveniles had demanded money threatening him with what appeared to be a BB gun.  The two took the man’s bag and fled.  The juveniles were not located.

Vehicle Equipment Repair Orders
Beginning August 1, 2013 Annapolis Police Department will conduct vehicle equipment repair order inspections Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm at 199 Taylor Av.  If you need to have a repair order inspection completed please respond to Annapolis Police Department during those times.
