APD Daily Report 07/23/13
In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 88 calls for service and arrested 4 people.
Assault, not Shooting – 201300003333 – 1100 block of Madison St – 07/16 at 3:30pm: Anne Arundel Medical Center contacted Annapolis Police Department to report a gun shot victim at the hospital. Officers responded and spoke to an adult male who had been shot in the right foot. The man told officers that he was dropping off a fare in the 1100 block of Madison St when he was approached by a subject who struck him in the face. He heard a gun shot and was struck in the foot. It was later determined that while the man was assaulted, he was not shot and it is not believed that a gun was involved in the assault. The injury to his foot was from a medical condition.
Good News – On 07/19 Lamont Crowner, 20, of Annapolis was arrested and charged in reference to thefts from vehicles in the 100 block of Quiet Waters Pl. On 07/15 six people reported that their unlocked vehicles had been entered overnight and at least one vehicle had items removed. Through investigation Crowner was identified as the suspect and was charged with six counts of rogue and vagabond and one count of theft less than $100. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $10,000 bond.
Shots Fired – 201300003414 – 1300 block of Tyler Av – 07/20 at 6pm: Officers responded to the area for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival they found evidence confirming shots were fired, including two live rounds and a vehicle that had been struck by a bullet. Through investigation Deon Matthews, 21, of Annapolis was identified as the shooter. Matthews was arrested on 07/21 and charged with attempted first and second degree murder, first and second degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony, and reckless endangerment, he is being held without bond.
Stolen Motorcycle – 201300003434 – 400 block of Merryman Rd – 07/21 at 11pm to 07/22 at 8:20am: A dark and light brown 1986 Yamaha Venture Royale 1300 motorcycle, MD reg. 18462LD, was stolen from in front of a residence.
Burglary – 201300003435 – 1800 block of Bay Ridge Av – 07/20 at 5pm to 07/22 at 7:30am: A safe inside the business was moved and someone attempted to pry it open. Nothing else was taken and there was no sign of forced entry to the business.
