APD Daily Report 07/08/13

In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 280 calls for service and arrested 28 people.


Good News – On 07/03 officers arrested Shannon Blair, 27, of Annapolis for three warrants and recovered a handgun and drugs he dropped while fleeing from police.  Officers responded to the 1100 block of Madison St for a report of a man selling illegal drugs in the area.  When officers approached Blair he fled on foot, throwing a loaded handgun.  Blair ran into an apartment in the 1000 block of Madison St, dropped a bag of crack cocaine, and attempted to exit the apartment through a rear window.  Blair was taken into custody as he exited the window.  Blair was charged with possession of CDS with intent to distribute, possession of CDS not marijuana, possession of CDS paraphernalia, fourth degree burglary, and handgun on person.  He was released from the Jennifer Road Detention Center after posting $100,000 bond on these charges.  Blair was also served with a bench warrant for failing to appear in court for traffic violations, a bench warrant for failing to appear in court for trespassing and CDS charges, and an arrest warrant for second degree assault.   

Auto Theft – 201300003117 – 500 block of Royal St – 07/04 at 9:30pm to 07/05 at 7am:  A white 2006 Ford F150 pick up truck was stolen, a spare key to the vehicle was stored inside the vehicle.  On 07/05 at 1:30pm the truck was found unoccupied in the unit block of Dorset Ct after being involved in a hit and run accident on Spa Rd at Old Forest Dr.

Thefts from Vehicles – 201300003119 – 500 block of Royal St – 07/04 at 7pm to 07/05 at 9am:  A Magellan GPS unit in a black case with purple polka dots and a case for a detachable car radio were stolen from two apparently unlocked vehicles.  The case for the car radio was recovered in the area.

Thefts from Vehicles – 201300003122, 3123, 3130 – Unit block of Tiburon Ct – 07/04 at 10pm to 07/05 at 8am:  A Garmin Nuvi GPS unit was stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle.  Two other vehicles were ransacked, but nothing appeared to have been taken.

Thefts from Vehicles – 201300003139, 3142 – 1200 block of Cedar Park Rd – 07/05 at 10:30pm to 07/06 at 8:30am:  A silver Garmin Nuvi GPS unit and a purse were stolen from two apparently unlocked vehicles.  The purse was recovered in the area.

Auto Theft – 201300003140 – 1500 block of West St – 07/05 at 7pm to 07/06 at 7am:  An orange 2008 Dodge Caliber was stolen, a spare key to the vehicle was stored inside the vehicle.  On 07/06 at 10am the vehicle was found unoccupied in the 500 block of Royal St.

Theft from Vehicle – 201300003160 – 1200 block of Gemini Dr – 07/06 at 9pm to 07/07 at 2:40pm:  Money and sunglasses were stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle.
