APD Daily Report 07/01/13

In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 301 calls for service and arrested 36 people.

 

Good News – On 06/28 Annapolis Police officers arrested Derrick Green, 37, and Donta Holdclaw, 38, both of Baltimore for an armed robbery that occurred the same day at 10:50am in the 500 block of South Cherry Grove Av.  The adult victim was pumping gas and a man approached him with a handgun demanding money.  The victim gave him money and the man fled the area in a vehicle.  Detectives were able to identify Green and Holdclaw as the suspects.  They were located operating the same vehicle and arrested.  Green was charged with armed robbery, use of a firearm in a felony or violent crime, and theft less than $100.  He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.  Holdclaw was charged with armed robbery and theft less than $100.  He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $150,000 bond. 

Burglary – 201300002923 – 200 block of McKendree Av – 06/25 from 2:30pm to 2:45pm:  The resident was in the rear yard when a subject going door to door soliciting for magazine subscriptions entered her home through an unlocked side door.  A neighbor saw the subject enter the house and alerted her after the subject left.  Officers located Sedric Ward, 29, of Dayton, Ohio in the area and he was identified as the subject who entered the home.  Ward stole a wallet from the residence.  He was charged with first, third, and fourth degree burglary, three counts of theft less $100, and three counts of theft less $1,000.  He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $100,000 bond. 

 

Theft from Vehicles – 201300002979 – Unit block of Mooring Point Ct – 06/27 at 10:30pm to 06/28 at 6:30am:  A Milwaukee stud finder, DeWalt impact drill, two DeWalt rechargeable batteries, a black tool box with wheels and a handle, and several other hand tools were stolen from the bed of a pick up truck and an iPhone charger was stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle.

Burglary – 201300002986 – 600 block of Sixth St – 06/28 from 12:15am to 7am:  Items were moved inside the home, but nothing was taken and there was no sign of forced entry.

 

Theft from Vehicle – 201300003002 – 400 block of Sixth St – 06/28 at 11:30pm to 06/29 at 2:30am:  Money was taken from the center console of the vehicle.  The passenger side window was smashed to gain entry.

Armed Robbery – 201300003022 – 2000 block of Forest Dr – 06/30 at 1:30am:  Three men with guns wearing black clothing, black masks, and gloves kicked in the back door to the residence.  The men demanded money from the residents and took their cell phones.  The victims fled the residence and called the police.  When officers arrived the suspects had the fled the area.

Robbery – 201300003024 – 300 block of President St – 06/30 at 4am:  An intoxicated adult male was walking in the area when he was assaulted from behind by several subjects who took his wallet, cell phone, and keys and fled the area.

Auto Theft – 201300003026 – 200 block of Garden Gate La – 06/29 from 9pm to 10pm:  A black Honda Pilot, MD reg. 54685M0, was stolen from the driveway.  A spare key to the vehicle was kept inside the vehicle.

Auto Theft – 201300003036 – 100 block of Conduit St – 06/30 at 4pm:  A Volvo S80 was stolen.  At 9pm the same day officers responded to the unit block of Water St for a report of two men trying vehicle door handles.  Rodell Pinckney, 19, and a 16 year old male both of Annapolis were arrested in the area after officers saw them trying to get into vehicles.  Two Volvo keys were found in the juvenile’s pocket.  Officers checked the area near the two men’s residences and recovered the stolen Volvo on Ridout St near New Vernon St.  One of the Volvo keys belonged to the stolen Volvo.  The juvenile admitted to stealing the Volvo key several months earlier from the unlocked vehicle.  The other Volvo key was stolen from an unknown Volvo and the two were attempting to locate that vehicle and steal it.  The juvenile was charged on juvenile citation.  Pinckney was charged with motor vehicle unlawful taking, theft from $1,000 to under $10,000, and three counts of rogue and vagabond.  He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $3,500 bond.
