APD Daily Report 06/17/13
In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 263 calls for service and arrested 30 people.
Good News – On June 14th officers recovered a Glock handgun from the 100 block of West St. Officers responded for a report of a woman screaming and smelled a strong odor of burning marijuana coming from the same area. Officers entered the room and discovered a woman and William White, 28, of Monroe, Virginia. White had a glass smoking pipe and marijuana in his possession. White also had a Glock handgun in a backpack. White has a concealed carry permit in Virginia, but it is not valid in Maryland. White was charged with concealing a dangerous weapon, handgun on person, possession of marijuana, and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He posted $5,000 bond and was released.
Theft of Bicycle – 201300002734 – 100 block of Duke of Gloucester St – 06/05 from 7pm to 8:30pm: A dark purple Mongoose Crossway men’s 26” bicycle was stolen from the rear of the building. The bicycle was left unsecured.
Auto Theft – 201300002754 – 2000 block of West St – 06/15 at 11pm: The driver of a Chevrolet Impala left the vehicle running, unlocked with the key in the ignition while he went inside a business. When he returned the vehicle had been stolen. Anne Arundel County police officers recovered the vehicle, unoccupied, a short time later in the 1200 block of Generals Highway.
Armed Robbery – 201300002755 – Unit block of Bens Dr – 06/15 at 11:50pm: The adult female was walking in the area when she was approached from behind by two male subjects. The subjects threatened to shoot her and told her to get on the ground. They pushed her to the ground and kicked and hit her. After checking her pockets they fled the area on foot. She was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center for minor injuries.
First Degree Assault – 201300002758 – 500 block of South Cherry Grove Av – 06/16 at 11:15am: A taxi driver was threatened by Walter Queen, 25, of Annapolis. Queen threatened to shoot the driver and showed him a handgun tucked into his waistband. When the driver called the police Queen fled on foot. Officers located Queen, but could not locate the gun. Queen was charged with first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, theft, CDS possession with intent to distribute narcotics, CDS possession with intent to distribute, three counts of possession of CDS not marijuana, two counts of prescription pill possession with intent to distribute, removing the label of a prescription, handgun in vehicle, handgun on person, use of a handgun in a violent crime, and CDS distribution with a firearm. Queen is being held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.
Robbery – 201300002767 – 1300 block of Tyler Av – 06/16 at 8pm: An adult male reported that he was robbed and assaulted by a subject known to him. The man was transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma by ambulance where he was treated and released. The investigation is continuing.
