APD Daily Report 06/03/13

In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 288 calls for service and arrested 30 people.

 

Attempted Burglary – 201300002421 – Pump House Rd - 05/24 at 1:30pm to 05/28 at 9:30am:  The doors to a storage garage and shed were damaged by someone attempting to break into them.  Nothing appears to be missing from either the garage or shed. 

 

Scooter Theft – 201300002501 – 700 block of Glenwood St – 06/01 at 1:30am:  An unregistered black and tan 2011 Pico scooter was stolen from the parking lot.  A citizen saw two male subjects leave with the scooter.  The subjects tampered with a second scooter which was not taken.

Attempted Theft from Vehicle – 201300002503 – Unit block of Southgate Av – 06/01 at 3:40am:  An officer driving through the area saw a vehicle with the interior lights on.  The vehicle was unlocked and the glove compartment and center console were open.  The vehicle owner responded and said that nothing was missing from the vehicle.

 

Attempted Theft from Vehicle - 201300002504 – 400 block of Fox Hollow La – 06/01 at 3am:  A citizen saw three male subjects enter an unlocked vehicle.  Nothing was taken from the vehicle.  The citizen yelled at the subjects, who fled the area leaving a bicycle and pair of sunglasses.  The police were called by the citizen half an hour later.  This incident is probably related to the following thefts from vehicles.

 

Thefts from Vehicles  - 201300002506 – Hunt Meadow (Unit block of Ashford Ct, 300 block of Riding Ridge Rd, Unit block of Carriage Run Rd) – 06/01 from 12am to 9am:  A set of iPod headphones were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the unit block of Ashford Ct.  Officers checked the area and discovered four more unlocked vehicles had been entered.  Other items taken include money, gift cards, and sunglasses.   

First Degree Assault – 201300002520 – 1100 block of Madison St – 06/02 at 1am:  A 34 year old man was shot twice in the buttocks after exiting an apartment.  The victim was transported by ambulance to Baltimore Shock Trauma with non-life threatening injuries.  The victim reported being approached by two male subjects upon leaving an apartment, one of the subjects began firing a handgun at him and then both fled the area on foot.  The investigation is ongoing.

Auto Theft - 201300002523 – Unit block of Boxwood Rd – 06/01 at 12am to 06/02 at 12:30pm:  A silver 2001 Honda Civic with unknown dealer tags was stolen.

Theft from Vehicle – 201300002526 – Unit block of Sandstone Ct – 06/01 at 1pm to 06/02 at 9pm:  The cargo doors to a work truck were pried open and over $1,600 worth of Makita power tools, two tanks of Freon, electronic scales, and a flange tool were stolen.

Theft from Vehicle – 201300002530 – 1100 block of Primrose Rd – 06/03 at 1am:  A citizen heard a loud noise and saw four subjects running away from a vehicle.  The citizen went outside and saw a vehicle with a broken window then called the police.  A yellow Coach purse was stolen from the front passenger seat of the vehicle.  The passenger window of the vehicle was broken with a broomstick to reach the purse.

Neighborhood Watch Meeting

The next Neighborhood Watch meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 11 from 7pm to 8:30pm at Annapolis Police Headquarters, 199 Taylor Av.  Topics for the evening will include Internet safety tips and National Night Out.  Food will be served so please RSVP to Sgt.
