Apd Daily Report 05/31/13

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 101 calls for service and arrested 13 people.

 

Thefts from Vehicles – 201300002461 – McKendree Av near Virginia Av - 05/30 at 3:30am:  An observant citizen reported two subjects looking into vehicles in the area.  Officers located Corey Abney, 18, of Glen Burnie and Craig Ireland, 18, of Annapolis in the area.  Abney fled from officers throwing a GPS unit that was later identified as being stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the area.  Two additional unlocked vehicles in the area were found to have been entered, with an Apple iPod Touch taken from one of those vehicles.  The iPod Touch was not recovered.  Abney and Ireland were charged with two counts of theft less than $1,000 and rogue and vagabond.  Both were released by the Court Commissioner on their own recognizance. 

 

Thefts from Vehicles – 201300002462 – 700 block of Crisfield Way – 05/29 at 9pm to 05/30 at 8am:  Five dollars and sunglasses were taken from two unlocked vehicles.

Shooting – 201300002480 – 1400 block of Tyler Av – 05/30 at 11pm:  A 24 year old man was shot in the foot while standing outside.  The victim was transported by ambulance to Baltimore Shock Trauma with non-life threatening injuries.  The suspect left the area prior to police arriving.  The investigation is ongoing.

Neighborhood Watch Meeting

The next Neighborhood Watch meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 11 from 7pm to 8:30pm at Annapolis Police Headquarters, 199 Taylor Av.  Topics for the evening will include Internet safety tips and National Night Out.  Food will be served so please RSVP to Sgt.
