What are the minimum requirements to be an Election Judge?
You must be registered to vote in Maryland.
You must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
You must submit an “Election Judge Application”
Successfully complete judges training.

Can my children accompany me while voting?
Yes. Two children under the age of 18 years old may accompany a voter while voting. Maryland law states that an individual in the care of the voter is permitted to accompany that voter in the polling place provided the individual is under 18 years old and does not disrupt or interfere with normal voting procedures.

Are electronics permitted in the polling places?
No. You cannot use your cell phone, pager, camera, or computer equipment in an early voting center or at a polling place.

Can I bring my specimen ballot into the polls with me?
Yes. You can bring any printed material – including your marked specimen ballot; to help you vote.

What forms of ID are accepted to vote?
A copy of a current and valid photo ID (i.e., Maryland driver’s license, MVA issued ID card, student, employee, or military ID card, U.S. passport, or any other State or federal government issued ID card.
A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document that shows your name and address. Current means that the document is dated within three months of the election.

What if my employer wants proof I voted?
Ask an election judge for a Certificate of Participation.

When is the last day I can register to vote?
The registration deadline is 21 days prior to any primary or general election.

What are the times the polling locations is open?

All polling locations are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the date of the election.
