There are a myriad of services to help move your new or existing business in the right direction.  This section contains resources that can improve the effectiveness of marketing strategy, process, or operations by assessing your business needs, reviewing business functions, or helping with business plans.

Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

The SBDC provides no-cost business counseling services to startup and existing businesses in the areas of business plan development, research on all aspects of business, strategic planning, and in accounting, legal entities, taxes and access to a national business clearinghouse.

Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE)

SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. It is a group of both working and retired executives and business owners who donate their time and expertise as business mentors. SCORE Chapter #390 in Southern Maryland offers free, confidential mentoring and conducts general and specialized workshops for which there are nominal charges.

Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED)

Under the website "Choose Maryland.org"  is the state of Maryland’s hub for business news, statistics, demographic data, licensing and labor information, and financial incentives.

The Maryland SBTDC network provides services to budding entrepreneurs and existing businesses.  Offering a variety of training and outreach programs and one-on-one counseling, the SBTDC gives special attention to each individual business and tries to meet its unique need.

Maryland Capital Enterprises, Inc.

The MCE offers business loans, education, counseling, and can assist in locating different sources of capital and assistance with developing a loan to suit your growing business.  Recently MCE expanded its operations to include providing services to existing Annapolis businesses operating more than two years with loans to expand.
